The softest light filters through the
Greenest leaves of the Maples lining the path –
Acer Macrophyllum, the Broadleaf Maple.
Bright green, like no other colour;
White sunlight falling like the warmest hug,
Tempers the air with unseasonable heat.
The salt air tinges the air with a soft bite,
Beside the path a creek gurgles and spills onto the sandy, rocky shore.
The fresh scent of leaves and salt air creates home.
Cocooned in a Maple grove, noonday sun directly overhead,
Twirling, in an infinitely girly way,
Laughing, smiling and savouring this perfect moment.
Summer defined by shadows and light, beams bursting through
Leaves, so thin. Deeper green, layer by layer, each a perfect example of the
Wonder of Summer and nature.
