Still on the Radar

Posted on

Between exams and preparing for interviews and Scouts and life, I’ve been busy.

And felt guilty for not updating more often, but it’s my recreational blog, so nyah.

I had an interview today. I slept through it. I woke up at 9:22 am. I was supposed to wake up at 7:30 am to give me plenty of time to shower, get dressed, look like a young professional that was serious yet approachable.
I may be a college graduate, but can I remember to set, check and double-check my bloody alarm clock?
Nope.  Grr.

I think I did okay, and am now anxiously awaiting a phone call. (pleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseplease phone!)

I spent a few days in Vancouver this week which was a nice change of pace.  A little sad no one came out to play cards, maybe next time.

When I got home, I had mail! It looked all official and stuff so I ripped it open, lo and behold, it was my diploma! Fancy paper (printer paper) with a shiny gold foil seal and everything. (My typing certificate is a thicker paper with an embossed seal, for the record. Way to go, College!)

After five years, I finally have something to show for all my efforts.
Now to decide if I really actually want to go to UVic in the fall or take a break. I guess work options will determine that. I can’t be on-call/shift work if I’m in class all day. I did tell my interviewers that I would plan around then as much as possible, so here is hoping!  Hoping to the ends of the earth and back…
I am officially a smarty-pants who cannot remember her alarm clock is set 12 hours fast. (12 hr clock, one small green light to show am/pm.)

My Scouts won last weekend! Yes, the entire weekend.
It was the GVA Spring Challenge camp, so each activity was scored, including general teamwork, and spirit. I was so proud when our little troop (7 on a good day, only 5 made it to camp and 4 survived the whole weekend) was called for first prize.
They did a great job, and a leader from another troop was so impressed, he came over to tell us how much he enjoyed working with the 7th scouts and how well they worked together :3

So that’s life in a nutshell.

Also, I did stay up to watch the Royal Wedding. It’s history in the making. Also a Disney fairytale in real life!
She’s a complete and total commoner (Lady Diana was in the aristocracy, don’t forget), who fell in love and married the Prince!
And her dress was AMASING! Oh wow do I want to try something like that on, but I know every girl who gets married in the next decade will wear the same or a very similar design…

Sigh. Hey, Harry, I’m a fan! I don’t mind that you’re a ginger 😉
